Plus, Pompano Beach waterfront is particularly desirable, not only because of its relative affordability but also because of its proximity to the inlet and because of the natural beauty of many of the wide canals that exist in the area. This city is also booming! From the new parking garage to Pompano Beach House, to Old Town, to the New Library and Cultural Center – there is no stopping our little city! The Pompano Beach CRA is working hard and accomplishing tremendous progress for our city. Overlooked for many years, people are now looking towards Pompano, not only as a more affordable option for housing (especially waterfront) but also as a destination. Pompano is geographically closer to the inlet than the far more expensive northern Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods, and now we are competing culturally and recreationally as well. Fishing, diving, parasailing, tours of the Hillsboro Lighthouse, Old Town Untapped, Farmer’s Market, the variety of things to do is endless.  With the new restaurants and the weekly happenings at The Sands and the live music events at Galuppi’s, which sits on the Greg Norman designed Pompano Beach Golf Course, there is plenty to do without going far from home.

Garden Isles, Cypress Harbor, High Ridge,Cypress Lake and Snug Harbor are perhaps the most well-known Pompano Beach waterfront areas.

These areas have one fixed bridge or more. A fixed bridge is a bridge that does not open, so clearance is limited to the height of the bridge. When people refer to the clearance, they usually reference the clearance (the height of the bridge) at mean high tide. The bridge that goes over Federal, south of Atlantic has a clearance of 11.5′ at high tide. The Garden Isles bridge that goes over 6th Te has 6.5′ at high tide, and the one over 5th Av in Cypress Harbor has 8′ clearance. These are important factors to take into consideration when purchasing your boat and when purchasing waterfront property. Pompano Beach waterfront in these areas in particular has generous bridge clearance and is still considered very desirable for avid boaters.

Cypress Lake was built around the beautiful lake that gave the area its name. The lake itself offers spectacular views- but that’s not all, it is also a great option for boaters, kayakers and paddle boarders. Easy ocean access, one, high-clearance bridge to the inlet, plus there are great shopping and restaurants right at your doorstep. High Ridge is sought after for the beauty and stability of the area, which includes a large area that is not on the water as well.  The elevation of this neighborhood gave it its name- something worth considering when shopping for insurance! All the neighborhoods in this area have their appeal and are well worth exploring. Take a look!
